PILPG’s Ukraine Accountability Initiative
The Public International Law & Policy Group (PILPG), together with Eversheds Sutherland, Gibson Dunn, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges are implementing a project to interview people living in Ukraine about their experiences since the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022. PILPG is a global pro bono law firm providing free legal assistance to parties involved in peace negotiations, drafting post-conflict constitutions, war crimes prosecution, and transitional justice (www.pilpg.org). The project aims to learn generally about what people in Ukraine have suffered because of the invasion, but also to learn whether interviewees have experienced or witnessed any acts that could constitute evidence of atrocity crimes.
You have received this link as a potential interview subject because you were living in Ukraine when Russia invaded. If you are willing to be interviewed by one of our investigators, we will not take more than two hours of your time, and we will interview you over a secure online platform at a time that you deem most convenient. Before we arrange an interview, we will ask you whether you prefer to speak with our investigators in English, Ukrainian, or Russian and coordinate interpretation if necessary.
If you are willing to be interviewed, please fill out the forms you will find at the bottom of this page:
Consent form that you will have to read and sign in order to obtain your voluntary consent before one of our investigators asks you questions. The consent form will seek your consent to record the interview. It will also seek your consent to share your name, details, and any recording with investigative bodies pursuing accountability for atrocities committed in Ukraine since February 24, 2022 who may be interested in your testimony. As the consent form states, you will not be compensated for any interview you may provide.
Interview Data Sheet that asks you for your personal information and language knowledge for conducting the interview.
Please share these forms with a n appointed PILPG contact person via Signal using the following phone number: ******
You will then be invited to the interview and shared the dial in details to meet the investigator at a time of your preference.
