  • Syria’s Day After: Security, Rule of Law & Democracy

    PILPG recently participated in a workshop in Copenhagen on the situation in Syria. Together with participants, PILPG drafted a strategic planning paper, “Planning for Syria’s ‘Day After’ – Security, Rule of Law & Democracy,” to recommend steps an interim Syrian government could take in the days immediately following President Bashar al’Assad’s departure.   • International Law and Crisis PILPG recently served as a co-sponsor to the 2011 Frederick K. Cox Law Center War Crimes Research Symposium, International Law in Crisis, held at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. The symposium examined the application of international law in times of crisis, and featured discussions with PILPG President Dr. Paul R. Williams and Managing Director Michael P. Scharf.
