Sudan Key Documents

• The Constitutional Charter for the 2019 Transitional Period, which the Transitional Military Council and Forces for Freedom and Change signed in August 2019 to guide Sudan through a transitional period to a civilian-led, democratic regime. 

• The Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan, which Sudan’s Transitional Government and representatives from several armed and other opposition groups signed in October 2020.

• The Transitional Constitution drafted by the Sudanese Bar Association in September 2022, which is currently recognized as the likely foundation for a new constitutional framework.

  • In the context of this Transitional Constitution, a newer draft version of Art. 74 of the Interim Constitution, which is relevant to SSR.

• The Framework Agreement (Phase I) between the military establishment and parties to the Sudanese Bar Association Initiative, signed in December 2022.
